I used to take time off or
bake “play” into my schedule mainly
after a big batch of work was complete.
Last year, however, I was far more
proactive in making plans for play…
and (as you can probably guess),
my productivity and business both went way up.
The quality of our work might well
depend on the quality of our play.
For some people, those two might
happen simultaneously (i.e. work = play).
That’s a rare & fortunate situation.
Outside this, though,
amping up the play component
can make a big, big difference.
This does not necessarily require
a big outlay of cash or time.
It could be poker nights
or a weekend with old friends;
a game of ping-pong or pool…
whatever makes you smile.
So as you look ahead to 2026,
it might be worth proactively
scheduling in more playtime.
I can’t imagine you’ll ever regret it.
