There’s something special about
all-women events—business and social.
As someone who went to an all-girls
grade and middle school (K-9),
I still feel a shift in the air
at events like these.
Men who are guests feel it, too
…in a very positive way.
The reception from women…
the level of perception, connection…
the intent to learn and grow…
is palpable in a way that’s hard to describe.
Last week, I did two sessions for
65 women from the Platinum Group at
Women Presidents Organization (WPO):
those who run companies
with $10mm–$50mm in revenue.
The Platinum Group is a savvy, fun,
spirited, insightful collection of business leaders
who are keen to learn…and laugh.
(I did two back-to-back sessions:
the first on how to Risk Forward®;
the second on how to Rock The Room®.)
One woman asked me at dinner
what I thought it was that
made women’s events
so special, and I couldn’t find the words….
But I can say this:
if you are a woman reading this,
it’s worth finding your community––
business and/or social;
and if you are a man reading this
(as a father, husband, or friend),
encourage the women in your life
to attend women-focused events and gatherings.
The opportunities for growth in unexpected ways
…are extraordinary.
Risk Forward & Rock On,
P.S. Every event requires immense prep, so at the end of a whopper few days, I went down to the waterpark at the hotel and floated along in the lazy river to celebrate.
P.P.S. During the workshops, I did some hilarious exercises with the women on various presentation and communication skills, and added a lot of humor…hence the pix of them busting up.
