Creating a Great Presentation — As With Life — Requires Patience

In thinking what I might post tonight, I found this piece I wrote a few weeks ago.

We live in a culture—and to some degree—a world obsessed with goals and decisions. Deciding—some believe—is the clarion call to greatness.

It puts us in a tizzy.

So if we aren’t clear, somehow we are “less than”… We mourn our lack of triumphant declaration. Fuzzy has become weak.

But in the grey lies our strength because if we are patient, often we uncover greatness.

Out of chaos can come clarity.

AND…we get in trouble when we decide too quickly — when because of the need to save face, we plant our flag instead of simply saying, “I”m figuring it out.”

Whether it’s the title of your next speech, the ending, the opening, the imagery, the arc, or your next move in life, take time to figure it out. Stay in the creative mud. Follow what inspires and excites you, and let it lead you to where you are meant to be.
